Attaching importance to the public’s right to access information, the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia continues to provide information on the investigation process of the criminal case on the murder of the members of Avetisyans’ family in Gyumri on 12 January 2015.
The criminal case was initiated under the requirement of Article 104, Part 2 Point 1 (murder of two or more persons) of the RA Criminal Code.
During the preliminary investigation aimed to detect the offender of the crime and to disclose all the circumstances, the investigative team formed at the Investigative Committee of the RA conducted all necessary immediate investigation activities: examination of the murder scene, three dozen witnesses were interrogated; more than a dozen expertises were assigned. Other investigation, judicial and operational intelligence measures were conducted as well.
A decision on involving Valeri Permyakov as a defendant in the criminal case was made, and the investigator of the RA Investigative Committee filed an indictment to Valeri Permyakov under the requirement of Article 104, Part 2 Point 1: of the RA Criminal Code intentional murder of two or more persons. Valeri Permyakov accepted the Charge.
At the same time, responding to some publications in Mass Media, the RA Investigative Committee officially announces that the preliminary investigation on the case of the murder is conducted by the RA Investigative Committee in full volume. The investigation and judiciary activities in the framework of the criminal case are conducted by the RA Investigative Committee in compliance with the provisions of the RA Criminal Code.
