Investigation Committee informs:
Active investigative and juridical measures are being carried out to investigate and reaveal the circumstances of the case on the January 12 murder of 6 family members and the murder attempt on the six months old child in Gyumri, considered in the General Department of Especially Important Cases.
Considering the public interest, it is reported that several dozens of people were questioned, among them the neighbors and relatives of the victims, the soldiers of the 102nd Russian Military Base who served with Valeri Permyakov who is accused for the murder. Blood, urine and hair samples were taken from the soldiers on the day of the incident and sent for examination.
Information on the result of these, as well as other examinations will be provided as soon as the results are known.
On January 15, the investigating authority sent a letter to the Prosecutor General’s Office according to the requirement of to the legal assistance of the international investigation commission to send a task to the relevant authorities of Russia, under the requirement of Article 475 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the RA.
On 16 January, according to written response from the Prosecutor General’s Office the international investigation instruction was sent to the Prosecutor general’s Office of the RF.
Information on the progress of the investigation will be provided on a regular basis.
