Corruption in the Social Sphere has a Coordinated Nature. NGO Members

Social sphere should certainly be involved in the Draft Anti-Corruption strategy, claim NGO members.

“We have many beneficiaries from 0 to 100 years old. We deal with that sphere, corruption risks do exist here. It would be great if it was involved in the list”, said the “Tatevik” Benevolent NGO President Lusine Petrosyan. She thinks that corruption risks exist also in the bodies providing services to the retired people.

President of the “Tskhani tsukh” NGO of Gavar in Gegharkunik region Anush Shahinyan thinks that the primary actions should be directed at the more coordinated corrupted spheres. “Those are the social sphere and the healthcare”, Mrs. Shahinyan stated.

She also said that her position is connected with her experience of 17 years as a social worker. “We couldn`t fight against corruption, it is systematic, it comes from the state authorities. That`s why I find it very important the establishment of the Anti-Corruption Coalition. We deal with poor population, and our inactivity disappoints the people who then leave the country”, said the NGO representative.

Let us remind that 4 target spheres have been selected within the framework of the RA Draft Anti-Corruption Strategy for 2014-2018, namely healthcare, education, state income collection and police service.
