NKR MFA has circulated a Statement referring the destruction of the Armenian helicopter.
“Destruction of the helicopter of the NKR Ministry of defense, which was on a training flight near the line of contact, is unprecedented violation of the ceasefire, which is fraught with serious escalation of tensions in the conflict zone.
The felonious and adventurous provocation of Azerbaijan in addition to gross violation of the obligations undertaken by the Azerbaijani side in seeking the ways of peaceful settlement of Nagorno Karabakh and Azerbaijan conflict, also demonstrated the Azerbaijan’s blatant disregard towards the OSCE Minsk Group co-chair countries as well as the International community as a whole.
This incident points to the need to intensify efforts aimed at strengthening the ceasefire regime and undertake urgent measures, first and foremost, for the development and implementation of effective mechanisms to investigate violations, which repeatedly were proposed by the Armenian side and has received the support of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs.
The development and implementation of mechanisms to investigate incidents promptly will allow revealing the real offender of the ceasefire regime in the face of Azerbaijan and avoid the non-specific calls directed to the parties of the conflict, which create a false feeling of the lack of restraint and impunity.”
