Parallel to the Government Session, several protest actions were taking place in front of the Government building. There were the merchants protesting against the Law on Circulation taxes, mothers who lost their sons during their military service, retired pilots and others.
The member organizations of the “Against domestic violence towards women” Coalition were also protesting in front of the Government. “We have gathered here today to demand adopting RA law on “Preventing domestic violence”. Though the Republic of Armenia has assumed international obligations to adopt it, during these years it has not undertaken any practical measures”, informed “Society without violence” NGO member Anna Nikoghosyan. She also reminded that in 2013 the Government rejected this law. “Thus our Coalition has made additions to the law, considering many notes presented by the state authorities”, said our interlocutor, adding that today they will address a new letter to the RA Prime minister Hovik Abrahamyan.
