Today Karen Andersayan, Human Rights Defender of the RA and Deputy Head of the German Embassy, Mr. Christoph Breunigsigned a Memorandum of Understanding on Providing Legal Assistance to the Victims of Torture and Ill Treatment in Detention.
Contribution provided in the framework of the Memorandum is 22. 300EUROs, which shall be used for involvement of visiting lawyers, who shall provide legal advice and assistance to the prisoners, victims of torture and ill treatment in detention. The program is implemented in cooperation with “Human Rights House” NGO.
This is the second such Memorandum directed to the protection of the vulnerable groups. Such memorandums have been signed with UNHCR for the protection f refugee rights and the Embassy of Switzerland in Armenia for the protection of women and juvenile.
