“The commander barely managed to preserve my son’s body”: Hakob Gevorgyan saved the lives of 25 soldiers

“I raised my eldest son without a father since he was 13. He studied in school, was smart, and respected in his community,” – the mother, Lala Gevorgyan, told Iravaban.net in the framework of the series “Immortal Victims of the Artsakh War”.

Captain Hakob Gevorgyan studied at the Vazgen Sargsyan Military Academy. He was 16 years old, they didn’t want to admit him, but after long requests, he was accepted: “He got in, graduated. He worked for the sake of the homeland, for the soldier, not for position or salary.”

The Captain served in Sanasaravan, he was supposed to receive the rank of Major in November, but didn’t make it. On October 3rd, Hakob Gevorgyan saved the lives of 25 soldiers. He came home, but returned to the battlefield at dawn. He was in very serious condition, couldn’t even talk to his mother, and his mother hadn’t seen him for about a year.
