“It was a lovely and bright weather when Emil was born, he was a unique child.” Mrs. Nune Shaghoyan, the mother of hero Emil Shaghoyan, told about this within the in the framework of “Immortal Victims of the Artsakh War” series of Iravaban.net.

“He went in for football since he was 5 years old, he loved it. He always received a medal, certificate of recognition,” she said.

Emil went to the army in high spirits, ready to serve, but his mother was sad when she learned that her son had to serve in Artsakh. “When he read the Artsakh code, I… I don’t know, I cried so much, I came home and cried.”

Mrs. Nune learned about the war unleashed by the Azerbaijani side on 27 September, 2020 while going to work, the taxi driver said. “I didn’t believe it. I went to work and saw the ambulances being prepared to move to Artsakh. Emil called and said, “Father, If you call and I do not answer, don’t worry, we are going to the positions.”

Emil Shaghoyan died in the defensive battles for the homeland on 7 November, 2020 in Shushi.
