Sargis Khandanyan, Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations, described the visit of UN representatives to Nagorno-Karabakh as late.
“For 10 months, we have been calling on the UN mission to go to Nagorno Karabakh and carry out work on the ground to collect facts, but these calls were not heard. The last visit of UN representatives to Nagorno Karabakh is late. We hope that the UN mission will report that ethnic cleansing has taken place in Nagorno-Karabakh and will use its tools,” he said.
Khandanyan also referred to the actions of the Russian peacekeepers. “There are no Armenians left in Nagorno-Karabakh. I cannot imagine whose security the Russian peacekeepers will provide in Nagorno-Karabakh, because for 10 months and before that they showed inaction and could not perform their functions at a proper level.
However, he is convinced that the international community should make a clear assessment of Azerbaijan’s actions, ethnic cleansing, with all the consequences arising from it.
