All Participants of the RA Team returned with Medals from the 3rd European Girls’ Olympiad in Informatics (EGOI)

On 15-21 July, the 3rd European Girls’ Olympiad in Informatics (EGOI) was held in Lund, Sweden, in which 189 schoolchildren from 52 countries participated. The Olympiad was held in two stages.

The RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports reported.

The Armenian team was represented by four participants, three of which represented the special physical school named after A.Shahinyan, and one from the seminary named after Shirakatsi. Filya Geikyan, a 12th-grade student of Physmat special school, won silver medal, and students of the same school, Mary Badalyan (12th grade), Arpi Prazyan (10th grade), and Suzanna Grigoryan, a student of Shirakatsi Seminary (12th grade), won bronze medals.

Armen Andreasyan (YSU lecturer) and Samvel Andreasyan (YSU student) led the Armenian team.

Let’s remind that the 2nd European Girls’ Olympiad in Informatics (was held in Turkey, in which the Armenian team did not participate, and in the 1st Olympiad, which was held in 2021 in an online format (organizing country: Switzerland), the RA team won 1 silver and 1 bronze medals.

The participation of the Armenian team in the Olympiad was supported by the sponsorship of the following IT companies: Sky Labs, Zoomerang and IQ Soft.
