An earthquake of magnitude 5.3 has hit China’s Yunnan province, according to the US Geological Survey (USGS). RIA Novosti reports.

The earthquake occurred at 15.27 p.m. local time, about 34 kilometers from the city of Baoshan with a population of 935.6 thousand people.

There were no reports of possible casualties or damage.
