The former Commander of the 3rd Army Corps, General Grigory Khachaturov, was arrested on 20 February. According to his representative, Khachaturov’s arrest is related to Seyran Ohanyan’s case. On 16 March, the Court of Appeals granted the petition of the prosecutor to impose a preventive measure of detention against Khachaturov for a period of two months.
The General Prosecutor’s Office reported that on the basis of the factual data obtained in the criminal proceedings under investigation at the National Security Service, on 20 February, 2023, the body implementing the proceedings submitted a petition to the supervising prosecutor against Grigory Khachaturov, who held the position of Commander of the N Military Unit of the RA Defense Ministry in 2006-2010, on initiating a public criminal prosecution for legalizing particularly large-size immovable property obtained by criminal means using official position (money laundering); the motion was granted by the supervising prosecutor.

From the annual declaration of 2019, it is clear that one of the apartments is a sole property, which was donated in 2004. It is located in Yerevan, Kentron administrative district. The other apartment is in Vanadzor, Lori region, it is jointly owned, and was bought in 2016. The Lexus brand car is 2007 production, which he bought in 2016. His funds remained unchanged: AMD 500,000, his income was 8,699,098 from his salary.
In 2020, Grigory Khachaturov’s financial resources amounted to 550,000 drams, and his income was AMD 7,295,986.
In 2021, he was released from the post of Commander of the 3rd Army Corps by the decree of the President of 7 July. There was no change in his immovable and movable property in the declaration submitted when terminating his position, the funds remained the same: AMD 550,000, income: AMD 4,946,556 from the salary received.

Grigory Khachaturov’s wife, Marina Khachaturova, did not mention anything in the declarations of 2017-18. In 2019, she declared the apartment acquired in 2016 as joint ownership in Vanadzor. Nothing else is filled in the declarations of 2020, 2021.
