Russian President Vladimir Putin has accepted the request of “Forbes billionaire” Ruben Vardanyan to renounce his Russian citizenship in order to move to Artsakh, “RIA Novosti” writes.
It is noted that the relevant decree was published on the Official Internet Portal of Legal Information.
On 1 September, Vardanyan revealed that he decided to renounce his Russian citizenship for the sake of Nagorno Karabakh. He thanked the Russian Peacekeepers who were brought to the region in 2020 after the escalation of the conflict.
In 2021, Forbes estimated Vardanyan’s wealth at $1 billion. He is the founder and former owner of “Troika Dialog” Investment Company.
