Ministry of Justice envisages changes in the case of loss of the certificate of passing the qualification check

The Ministry of Justice has presented for public discussion  a draft on making changes and additions to the Government decision.

It is noted that in practice, there are cases when in case of loss of the certificate issued by the Ministry of Justice certifying the passing of the qualification check of the translator/interpreter participating in Notarial activities, there is a necessary to provide the translator participating in Notarial activities with a copy of the certificate, while there are no relevant regulations on this in the order.

The Draft, proposes to supplement Clause 19 of the Order with regulations regarding the provision of a copy of the certificate by submitting a corresponding application to the Ministry of Justice in case of loss of the certificate. In addition, the Draft proposes to add a provision in Clause 19.1 of the Order that the notary is provided a certificate of qualification on the basis of a copy of the reference.

“At the same time, with the aim of not overburdening the person by placing additional responsibilities and to free from unnecessary hassles, this Draft proposes to withdraw from the Order the provision on a person making a statement about the loss of a certificate through Mass Media. According to the Draft, it is proposed to make other changes of technical nature in the Order as well”, the justification states.
