The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus has stated that decency is one of the features of the republic’s foreign policy, and it is unprofessional to question it.
Minsk has always supported the peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict, the Belarusian Foreign Ministry announced.
Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia responded to the statements made by the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, at the last meeting of the Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization. “We do not consider it appropriate to comment on the insolent statements of the President of Belarus, unrelated to the logic of negotiations and totally against the nature of allied relations and friendship, which call into question the obligations of the member-state signed by himself within the framework of the CSTO,”
“You know, the Armenian Foreign Ministry has taken a very original position. Belarus has been confirming loyalty to its allied obligations not in words, but in deeds throughout its history,” the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus said in a statement.
During the session of the CSTO Collective Security Council, Alexander Lukashenko stated that it would not be right to oppose the CSTO to Azerbaijan.
“It is not the right thing to raise the question whether the CSTO is with us, or not. Azerbaijan is now headed by absolutely our man, Ilham Aliyev. What will happen tomorrow, he is not forever, no one knows, so these issues should be resolved now,” said the President of Belarus, emphasizing that both Azerbaijan and Armenia are “close” countries for Belarus, and the conflict between the two countries must be settled in an absolutely peaceful way.
Lukashenko also stated that Belarus and himself as president will support any decision agreed between Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia.
