11 September, 2001: this day went down in the recent history of the United States as the day of the greatest tragedy.
21 years ago, about 3 thousand people died under the rubble of two skyscrapers of the New York World Trade Center as a result of terrorism.
According to the official version, the reason for the collapse of the skyscrapers was the impact of two hijacked planes, which crashed into buildings, caught fire, exploded and blew up the structures with them, the third plane hit the Pentagon, the fourth, perhaps due to the internal conflict of the hijackers, fell in a field in Pennsylvania. The official culprit of this large-scale terrorist operation was also known – the leader of the “Al Qaeda” terrorist group, Osama bin Laden, who took responsibility for the terrorist attack. However, many Americans did not believe this official version.
Currently, in New York, in that area of Manhattan where the towers of the World Trade Organization were raised before the terrorist attack, there is a memorial to the victims of September 11, a square pool with the names of the victims engraved on its four black granite walls. The water flows down in thousands of thin jets, symbolizing the tears of the friends and relatives of the two victims.
About three thousand people died as a result of terrorism, more than 2 thousand 600 of them were in destroyed skyscrapers.
