The United States is considering disconnecting Russia from GPS

The United States is considering the possibility of disconnecting Russia from GPS, Roscosmos CEO Dmitry Rogozin told reporters, TASS reports.

“Do you know that today, within the framework of sanctions, the United States [of America] is considering the possibility of disconnecting the Russian Federation from GPS? I can tell you that such an issue is being considered,” Rogozin said.

At the same time, the head of Roscosmos noted that one should not “strain” about this, since each smartphone has access to the GLONASS system. Rogozin believes that the Russian system has the same accuracy.

It should be reminded that early in the morning of 24 February, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the launch of a special military operation in Ukraine, aimed at ensuring the security of the Donetsk and Luhansk republics, as well as removing the “Nazi regime” in Ukraine.

The United States and the European Union have described Russia’s move as a direct aggression by Russia against Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.

The Verkhovna Rada has declared martial law in Ukraine.
