The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said this in his video message on Saturday, 5 March.
“We managed to prevent the humanitarian crisis at the border. We managed to organize the situation in such a way that thousands of Ukrainian women and children would receive a dignified treatment. Nobody asks what their nationality is, what their faith is, how much money they have. In fact, we no longer have a border with friendly Poland, because together we are on the side of kindness, the issue is not the borders,” the head of state said.
He said that he spoke with the presidents of France and Poland at night. According to Zelensky, such conversations are daily, and the cooperation is permanent.
“I’m very grateful to each and every one of them, as well as to Andrzej (Duda: ed.) for our shared work and determination to protect people. Thanks to Andrzej’s wife, Agatha. Friends whom I sincerely consider friends,” the head of state emphasized.
It should be reminded that in the early morning of 24 February, Russian President Vladimir Putin delivered a message announcing the decision to launch a special military operation in Donbas.
“Circumstances require us to take decisive and immediate action. The Donbas People’s Republics have appealed to Russia. I have decided to launch a special military operation in this regard,” Putin said in a televised address to Russian citizens.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that from 5:00 am (7:00 am Yerevan time) on Thursday, the Russian Armed Forces carried out intensive attacks on Ukrainian military facilities and airports.
The Verkhovna Rada has declared martial law in Ukraine.
