The Ukrainian delegation that left for talks with Russia is already in Belarus, Sputnik Belarus reports, citing a source close to the process.
“The Ukrainian delegation is already at the entrance to the talks. The meeting with the Russian negotiators is expected to start this morning,” the agency’s Telegram channel reads.
Belarusian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Anatoly Glaz said the site was ready and delegations were expected to arrive.
Notably, the negotiations should have taken place the day before. The Russian representatives, headed by Assistant to the President Vladimir Medinsky, arrived in Gomel, a city chosen by the Ukrainian side. After the telephone conversation between Alexander Lukashenko and the President of Ukraine, the meeting was agreed to take place at the Alexandrovka-Vilcha checkpoint in the Gomel region.
