Turkey has asked Russia and Ukraine to open an air corridor for the evacuation of its citizens.

As reported by TASS, the Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said in an interview with Turkish NTV.

“We are currently negotiating with bus companies. However, there are many people who want to return. We have taken the initiative to open an air corridor with both Russia and Ukraine. We are ready to evacuate the citizens by sea,” he said.

Çavuşoğlu said that Recep Tayyip Erdoğan continues to be in close contact with the Presidents of Russia and Ukraine, Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky. He reaffirmed their readiness to hold a meeting of the two Presidents in Turkey.
