The “5165 Movement” has issued a statement, which states:

“Expressing our consent with the assessment of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin that the Bolsheviks, in particular their leader Lenin, played a very negative role in the national question of the former Russian Empire during the creation of the Soviet Union, the “5165 Movement” believes that the Armenian people have suffered greatly from a policy aimed at maintaining a purely Bolshevik regime, ignoring a just solution to national issues.

The Artsakh movement, which started in 1988, was the reaction of the people of Artsakh to the unforgivable mistakes made by Bolshevism and the arduous attempt to correct those mistakes, and the problems that Vladimir Putin pointed out in relation to Donbas are even more obvious in the Artsakh issue. Artsakh was the first in the territory of the USSR to start fighting against backward nationalism and xenophobia.

Separate territories of the historical homeland of the Armenian people, separate regions of the former Republic of Armenia were donated to Turkey and Azerbaijan by the Bolshevik leadership. The vital interests of the Armenian people were sacrificed to the vain agenda of the “world revolution”, for which the Armenian people paid a very high price. The donated territories quickly began to be emptied of Armenians. And it was only due to the Artsakh movement that started in 1988 that the complete eviction of Armenians from that territory donated to Azerbaijan was prevented.

As a result of the new war unleashed against Artsakh on 27 September, 2020, Azerbaijan, with the active and large-scale support of Turkey, involved thousands of jihadist terrorists, allowing unforgivable crimes against humanity, tried to finally evict the Armenians from Artsakh. The presence of the Russian peacekeeping forces only at this moment guarantees the physical security of the people of Artsakh.

Given the current situation and taking into account the obvious steps taken by Azerbaijan to expel Armenians from Artsakh, we call on the top leaders of the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation to recognize the sovereignty of the Artsakh Republic and sign military assistance agreements with the latter, which can be a real guarantee of security.”
