On 21 February, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree recognizing the independence of the Luhansk and Donetsk People’s Republics. TASS news agency reported.
As we reported earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. In his contacts with them, the Russian leader announced that he intends to sign a decree on the recognition of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics in the near future.
It should be noted that the Russian leader, together with the leaders of the DPR and the LPR, signed agreements on friendship, cooperation and support between the Russian Federation and the Republics.
Putin congratulated Denis Pushilin and Leonid Pasechnik on signing these agreements.
