The President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev stated that the Azerbaijani side will suppress the activities of the OSCE Minsk Group, the only internationally recognized format for the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
The Azerbaijani media reported.
In an interview with Azerbaijani TV channels, Aliyev spoke sarcastically about the activities of the Minsk Group Co-Chairs, saying: “I do not know what the OSCE Minsk Group is doing. I think they are preparing for the jubilee events now. As you know, the Minsk Group was established in 1992, and this year marks its 30th anniversary.”
Contrary to the statements made by the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs so far, Aliyev stated that the Co-Chairs “should not deal with the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict anymore, as the issue has already been resolved.”
Aliyev stated that Baku will suppress the attempts of the OSCE Minsk Group to deal with the Karabakh issue.
Referring to the activities of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs, the leader of authoritarian Azerbaijan mocked, saying. “In fact, [the co-chairs] already have 30 years of work experience; they are on the verge of retirement. That is why I wish them many years of life and good health.”
