We are interested in concluding a peace agreement, we are interested in the start of those negotiations. The Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated during the online press conference.
He noted that the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs had proposed an agenda of negotiations, one of the points of which was a peaceful, comprehensive settlement.
“We are interested, we have not refused to talk about that topic? If we have declared that we want to open an era of peaceful development for our country and region, it would be illogical to say that we do not want to hear about the peace treaty. The peace treaty is one of our possible goals. By and large, the negotiations we are talking about, what is it about? “We are talking about a peace agreement, possible provisions and content,” Pashinyan said.
He noted that during the talks Azerbaijan will try to make its interests more expressive and Armenia will do the same. “If we manage to formulate a model of peace that will be beneficial to both Armenia and Azerbaijan, then maybe the negotiating table will be less of a field of opposition, more of an opportunity to understand the point of view of the other side, to draw acceptable provisions from those points of view.”
According to Pashinyan, there are such preconditions after the talks in Sochi and Brussels.
