Sale of plastic bags up to 50 microns thickness will be banned after the New Year

From 1 January, 2022, the sale of plastic bags up to 50 microns thick will be banned in Armenia. The Ministry of Environment reported.

Plastic is difficult for nature to digest and, on the contrary, highly consumed by mankind. About 5 trillion plastic bags are used annually worldwide. Some of them are not eliminated, they accumulate in the ocean, remain on land and cause significant damage to both flora and fauna and human health.

After the New Year, Armenia will ban the sale of plastic bags up to 50 microns thickness.

Legislative changes have been made, work is being carried out with businesses, and everything must be done from January 2022 to properly fulfill the requirements of the law.
