The EU authorities have excluded six countries from the list of non-compulsory travel allowed amid the coronavirus pandemic. TASS reported with reference to the statement of the EU Council.
Armenia, Azerbaijan, Albania, Serbia, Brunei and Japan were excluded from the list. European services have temporarily restricted entry to these countries. It is noted that the term optional travel includes tourist visits.
On 30 August, it was reported that the European Union authorities banned free entry from the United States, as the incidence of coronavirus is growing in the country. The country was also excluded from the specified list. The United States, in turn, allows travel from the European Union only when absolutely necessary – that is, it adheres to the regime proposed by the EU.
To date, optional trips from the EU countries are allowed to 12 countries, including Moldova, Ukraine, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Jordan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Singapore and South Korea. Uruguay was also recently added to the list.
