The 50-meter-high Russian flag was raised in Nagorno Karabakh

The Russian servicemen of the NKR peacekeeping contingent took part in the celebration of the Russian state flag day, the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry reports.

The event began with the raising of the state flag under the anthem of the Russian Federation.

“On 22 August, we celebrate the day of the state flag of our country. This holiday is called to unite and to join all those who are devoted to their homeland, who sacredly value the history of their country, their people,” Deputy Commander of the Russian Peacekeeping Group, Major General Oleg Yegorov addressed the staff.

“Let me congratulate you on the All-Russian holiday – the day of the Russian state flag. Many generations of our people have carried out and continue to carry out significant events under this flag,” Armen Gulnazarov, head of the “We Are United” project said.

“Today, for the first time in the history of Nagorno Karabakh, a festive event dedicated to the great day of the Russian Flag Day, was held in the territory of the permanent deployment of peacekeeping troops. The 50-meter-long, 5-meter-wide Russian flag was brought from the Russian Federation with the volunteers of the “We Are United” union. It was shown to the whole staff, the holiday order was read, all the servicemen were encouraged, including with delicious gifts, pies, sweets.” Yegorov said.

The event ended with the display of the 50-meter flag of the Russian Federation, and a solemn procession with military-patriotic songs.
