The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia expresses its sympathy to the people of Greece in connection with the damage caused by the forest fires.
“Deeply saddened by the news of the devastating wildfires that broke out across Greece. We express solidarity and deep sympathies to the brotherly people of Greece in this troubling times,” reads the post on the RA Foreign Ministry’s Twitter page.
It should be noted that the forest fire in Greece reached the outskirts of Ancient Olympus. The fire continues in Melpia region (Messinia region, Peloponnese). There, 28 firefighters with 11 vehicles, as well as the rear detachment will fight against the fire all night. Residents of six local communities were evacuated for preventive purposes.
