The RA Police received operative data informing about transferring 9,000,000 AMD to G.P., a resident of Janfida village, according to the agreement reached with him by Ruben Khlghatyan, former mayor of Armavir, included in the list of candidates of the Bloc, to distribute electoral bribes among the residents of Janfida village to provide votes in favor of the same bloc participating in the 20 June, 2021 extraordinary elections..
The Prosecutor’s Office reported.
As a result of joint measures taken by the RA Police officers, on 10 June, 2021, at 16:30, in the house of G.P. in Janfida village, տhe above-mentioned two persons were caught in G.P.’s house at the moment of transferring the amount of 9,000,000 AMD election bribe. Moreover, as soon as they saw the police officers, they threw the plastic bag with the money, which was in their hands, and which was the subject of an election bribe, into the yard of the house, which was found and taken during the inspection of the scene.
On the same day, a criminal case was initiated in the Armavir Region Prosecutor’s Office on the materials prepared in accordance with Article 34-154.2, Part 2 of the RA Criminal Code, the preliminary investigation of which was assigned to the Armavir Regional Investigation Department․
- Kh. and G.P. were taken to Armavir Police Department and arrested. They refused to testify.
Necessary actions are taken to find out all the circumstances of the incident.
Note: A person that is suspected or accused of an alleged crime is considered innocent until his/her guilt is proved by a court judgment that has come into legal effect pursuant to the procedure determined by RA Criminal Procedure Code.
