The RA Ministry of Defense informs ․
“As we informed earlier, today, on 19 May, at 14:00, the talks on the peaceful settlement of the situation created by the provocation carried out by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border were to continue. Despite the agreement reached in advance, the Azerbaijani side did not attend the talks.
It should be reminded that the Ministry of Defense announced today that The situation after the provocations carried out by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces on 12 and 13 May in some border areas of Syunik and Gegharkunik regions, as of the morning of 19 May, has not changed significantly.
In all directions of the provocation, both the territories and the Azerbaijani military, as well as the possible ways of securing them, continue to be under the full control of the Armenian forces. Moreover, in the previous two days, additional units of the RA Armed Forces were released on the spot, completely depriving the Azerbaijanis of the opportunity to carry out any action, and theoretically, leaving the return to the starting positions as a reasonable solution.
Nevertheless, negotiations on a peaceful settlement of the issue are still ongoing. The RA Ministry of Defense is full of hope that they will give the desired result; the created situation will be resolved in a peaceful way. At the same time, as it has already been announced, in the absence of a solution within a reasonable time, the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia reserves the right to settle the issue in another way, including by force.”
