The National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia adopted the package of draft laws “On the Rights of Persons with Disabilities”, “On the Assessment of the Functionality of the Person” and other related laws, which aim to create equal opportunities for persons with disabilities in all spheres of public life and provide addressed services.

At present, the approaches and principles of social protection of persons with disabilities are defined by the Law on Social Protection of Persons with Disabilities in the Republic of Armenia, adopted in 1993, which did not allow for a comprehensive assessment of a person’s abilities to carry out the full activity.
The package of submitted draft laws defines the main principles and directions of the state policy of ensuring, promoting and protecting the rights of persons with disabilities, ensuring equal conditions and equal opportunities.
