“He was very fond of the cookies and cakes made by my grandmother and me. We made them on 26 September to send on the 27th, but in the morning he called and said we would not send anything. He will not be in the military unit,” Sargis Tambulyan’s mother Anahit Sahakyan said. Sargis was drafted into the army on 31 January, 2019. The mother had not seen her son for a year, the last time she saw him was on 10 December last year.
“I noticed at the age of 15 that he started reading, especially reading in Russian. I sent many books to the army; he read them and sent them back. “Every morning, before going to work, I kissed him. When he woke up he called to ask if I had kissed him or not, and then I started applying lipstick and then kissing him so that he would believe,” his mother says.
Sargis Tombulyan died on 9 November, hours before the ceasefire, in the area of Red Market in Martuni.
