The OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs are proposing a humanitarian ceasefire in Karabakh to repatriate the bodies of fallen servicemen. This is stated in the statement of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs Igor Popov (Russia), Stefan Visconti (France) and Andrew Chaffer (USA).
The Co-Chairs call on the parties to the conflict to immediately cease hostilities and return without substantive negotiations. The statement said that the involvement of foreign parties in the conflict undermines efforts to achieve peace in the region.
The Co-Chairs strongly condemn the hostilities in the Karabakh conflict zone and the strikes away from the Line of Contac on the territories of Armenia and Azerbaijan. The Co-Chairs are concerned about reports of an increasing number of civilian casualties. Attacks on peaceful targets are unacceptable in any case, the Co-Chairs stressed.
