Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov has called for an end to the bloodshed via his Telegram channel. RIA Novosti reported.
“Nagorno Karabakh is like an open wound that some forces do not allow to heal. The whole Caucasus, all the brotherly peoples of the region suffer from this pain. Russia is making a titanic effort to bring the conflicting parties to the negotiating table. But for that, it is necessary to stop hostilities once and for all,” he said.
He called on the United Nations, neighboring states and allies to join the peace process.
“The Chechen people, who know very well the value of war and peace, call on you to stop, to change your anger into common sense, to lower your pride, to give fathers and mothers the opportunity to see their children alive and well,” Kadyrov said.
It should be reminded that in the early morning of 27 September, Azerbaijan started active shelling along the line of contact. Peaceful settlements, including the capital Stepanakert, are also being shelled. The population was called to take refuge. Stepanakert stated that the answer will be proportionate, “the entire responsibility for the situation lies with the military-political leadership of Azerbaijan, personally Ilham Alieyev.”
