The Results of the Vodka Examination that caused the Death of 14 People are known

On 1 September, food safety inspectors sampled for laboratory testing a confiscated batch of home-made vodka that killed 11 people.

The examination confirmed the initial version of the symptoms of poisoning, that is, vodka contains methyl alcohol, the percentage of which is many times higher than the maximum allowable level approved by the EEU regulations.

Food Safety Inspection Body once again calls on citizens to refrain from consuming alcoholic beverages of unknown origin, reminding that the circulation of beverages of unknown origin is prohibited.

The Ministry of Health first announced on 1 September that we have 11 deaths, according to preliminary data, from “alcohol intoxication”. Later, the spokeswoman of the Ministry of Health informed that one of the deaths was registered for another reason.

The Investigative Committee urged all the citizens who had bought alcohol from Armavir resident Ashot Hovsepyan not to use it.

On September 3, the Ministry of Health announced that the death toll had reached 14.

Notably, a criminal case has already been inquired into the incident.
