MP Hrachya Hakobyan wrote on his Facebook page: “For more information on the explosion in Beirut, I contacted the Armenian representation in Lebanon. I was informed that according to the known data, there are no Armenians among the people killed in the blast, and there are two of our compatriots among the wounded, who were injured as a result of breaking glass.
I wish our compatriots good health and recovery.”
Earlier it was reported that according to to TASS, at least six people were killed in the blasts in Beirut.
The bodies of the victims were found in the port of the Lebanese capital. Hundreds of people were reported injured in the two blasts. Videos of the explosion and its aftermath in the port of Beirut have been posted on the Internet.
Reuters reports about 10 victims as a result of the explosion.
In addition, a number of houses were destroyed, people may be under the rubble. According to local media, the explosion may have been caused by a fire in a fireworks depot.
