Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has criticized the work of the country’s Foreign Ministry in recent days. “Interfax” Reported.
He noted that Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov did not react to the 12 July events in any way. Addressing Prime Minister Ali Asadov, Aliyev said: “What was the Foreign Minister doing, where was he?” We were at work… I could not find the Foreign Minister. I asked the Prime Minister where he was. “What did he tell you? Tell me.”
The latter replied that Mammadyarov said that he worked from home: “I called him and told him to tell me where he was hour by hour. I gave him instructions and mentioned that it is not allowed. We are all at work. “I asked him why he works from home. You should come to work,” Asadov said.
According to Aliyev, Mammadyarov should have agreed with Armenia on the Karabakh issue, but he did not fulfill the task.
“The RA Prime Minister says, ‘Karabakh is Armenia, and that’s all.’ I answered to this. Has the Foreign Ministry responded in any way? I have not heard not hear, the people have not heard. Who should have responded first? The Ministry of Foreign Affairs. “I have said that there will be no cooperation with Armenia as long as there is no progress in the negotiations,” Aliyev stressed.
Earlier, Presidential Assistant Varuzhan Geghamyan informed that Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov had resigned.
