The Armenian Restaurant Association made a statement today, which in particular reads:
Today, the RA Minister of Health Arsen Torosyan called to stop the “cafe-restaurant visits”.
Such a categorical statement at the level of a member of the government, seriously worries the representatives of our sphere.
The catering establishments operate in strict compliance with the anti-epidemic rules developed by the Commandant’s Office, and there is a wide range of preventive measures against those who fail to preserve the rules, which have been strictly applied to date.
In the face of multiple sales declines, such a categorical call is like a death sentence for public food companies which hardly survive , with the inevitable consequences of losing tens of thousands of jobs in the industry.
We call on the relevant bodies of the Government of the Republic of Armenia to start an urgent discussion with the representatives of our sphere on finding ways out of the current situation.”
