Researchers paid special attention to the Spike D614G mutation, common in Europe. It was first discovered in Germany.
According to one theory, this mutation affects the part of the virus that the immune system recognizes and that specialists are guided by when developing vaccines. It is supposed that D614G makes patients vulnerable to new infection.
