On 22 April, during a special sitting of the National Assembly, MPs Naira Zohrabyan and Gevorg Petrosyan announced that about 20 people had gone on a hunger strike at the Vanadzor penitentiary institution because their relatives were not allowed to hand over supplies.

Later, MP Arman Babajanyan writes about this.

“At 02:15, I left Vanadzor penitentiary. Fifteen of the 24 inmates who went on hunger strike stopped the hunger strike.
