In the Republic of Armenia foreign citizens who are arrested or detained shall have the right to make and maintain connections with a diplomatic representative or the consular service of their country.

The arrested or detained foreigners who are citizens of a country that has no diplomatic representation or consular service in the Republic of Armenia, as well as refugees and stateless persons also have the right to make and maintain connections with a diplomatic representative or the consular service of other countries which have undertaken the responsibility to protect their rights and interests. As well, they also have the right to make and maintain connections with any national or international body which are involved in the protection of their rights and interests.
