Different police divisions, as the National Central Bureau of Interpol in Armenia, cooperated with law enforcement agencies and Interpol in a number of European countries, and as a result of extensive operative-intelligence measures, detected Narek Sargsyan on 6 December in Prague. The latter was internationally wanted by Armenian law enforcement agencies. At the moment of detection, he presented a fake passport of a citizen of Guatemala, Franklin Gonzalez.
The information on the search of the wanted person was transferred to the RA General Prosecutor’s Office to organize the extradition process.
Notably, on 26 June, a criminal case was instituted against him according to the Criminal Code for the illegal acquisition, sale, transfer, transportation or possession of weapons, ammunition, explosive devices or explosives, and illegal sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors.
Narek Sargsyan was wanted since 6 July, and was in international search since 24 July.
The police once again affirmed that there are no unidentified offenses, there are no unidentified wanted persons when a major issue is the administration of justice, and there is a functioning professional and consistent police system.
