On 20 June, a lecture “Agriculture Sector an Economic Priority, according to the RA Government Program and Issues and Perspectives of Effective development of agricultural insurance system,” was delivered to the representatives of CSOs participants of Gyumri CSOs’ Incubator in the framework of the EU funded “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” Project.
The training was conducted by the expert of the SME Cooperation Association Artak Martirosyan, who presented the prerequisites for the introduction of the Agricultural Insurance Institute in Armenia.
The expert mentioned that in the second half of 2017, the Oxfam Armenia office developed a methodology for impact assessment of agricultural insurance and agricultural insurance monitoring in Armenia. During 2017, at the initiative of Oxfam Armenia, educational programs were also implemented for member organizations of the Armenian Agriculture Alliance.
Since August 2014, developing a joint agricultural insurance scheme jointly with the KfW Development Bank of German federation, the Central Bank of Armenia and the RA Ministry of Agriculture.
During 2018 according to preliminary information, agricultural insurance pilot projects will be implemented as a result of the above cooperation.
