Ashot Aharonian, Head of the Police Public Relations Department, writes on his Facebook page:
“Some NGO representatives have spread information, that the detainees, who were taken to the police, were beaten, humiliated, so on and so forth. And all these, without giving any specific evidence, addresses but with obscure references, some videos, the texts of which cannot be heard even if it’s your biggest desire. This “uncertainty” is especially surprising in the sense that the people mentioned previously referred to their clients one by one. Today, it is not so, and it gives reason to believe that the facts are manipulated.
I suggest to refrain from such “amateur” and escalated actions.
All the cases more or less known to us were appointed for service examinations by the order of the Chief of the Police.
If you really want to find out the truth and punish those guilty and support the investigation, contact the police. In case of difficulties contact me through telephone or social networks.
This is the way to get the true picture of the reality, otherwise, I repeat, you would have to think that all these are primitive and infantile experiments in order to defame the police and mislead the public.”
