Conducting Anti-Corruption Audit at the Universities is an Interesting Idea. Levon Mkrtchyan

After graduating the University, I have worked at the University and I have always been in the system of education, I know the problems inside. Today, the newly appointed Levon Mkrtchyan said in the interview with journalists and represented his concept of the development of educational system.

According to him, currently two components of the educational system do not realized completely: first is the high school and the second is the master’s degree education. The higher school should be the place where the child finished the middle school would be able to acquire a primary profession. The workload that exists at today’s high schools, do not allow it to fulfil its mission. According to the Minister, today the higher school continue the studies of the middle school’s programs.

As for the master’s education, the minister noted that the master’s education do not give any quality advantage to the person, and it is important that master’s education is not connected with the labor market. As a result the person spends excessive two years and money.

Speaking about the fight against the corruption in the educational system, Levon Mkrtchyan noted that in this case it was important to clarify the reasons, because the problem could not be solved by punishing one or two people.

In reply to the question of Iravaban.net, whether it is possible to investigate and introduce the experience of some Eastern European countries in our country (e.g., Poland, Czech Republic), according to which anti-corruption audits are conducted at the Universities, and the results of the audit are published in their websites. Levon Mkrtchyan replied: “This idea is very interesting. I am not familiar with the mechanisms, please apply with recommendations, we shall meet with pleasure.”
