The interview stage for selecting Armenia`s judge at the ECHR is over

Today the interview stage of the competition for Armenia`s judge at the ECHR came to end. 11 of the candidates took part in this stage. The interviews were held in 3 phases, during the first of which candidates spoke of their personal data, during the second – their professional abilities, and during the third one their language skills were checked.

The following candidates took part in this stage of the competition: Armen Harutyunyan (Regional Representative of the UN Human Rights Commissioner in Central Asia, Temporary (ad interim) head of the UN Mission of Human Rights Monitoring in Ukraine, Doctor of Law), Arayik Ghazaryan (Member of the “Rule of Law” NGO and “Forum” Rights Center, Professor of the Academy of Justice NCSO), Nelly Harutyunyan (Head of International legal Relations Division of the RA General prosecutor`s Office), Vigen Kocharyan (Professor, Head of the European and International Law Department at YSU), Lisa Grigoryan (Judge at the Court of General Jurisdiction of Erebuni and Nubarashen Communities of Yerevan), lawyer Vahe Grigoryan, Practitioner in the field of human rights protection Davit Khachatryan, judge at the Court of general jurisdiction of Kentron and Nork-Marash communities of Yerevan Arayik Melkumyan, full member of the WTA, Legal counselor at the NGO of “Protection of the rights of tax-payers and entrepreneurs” Davit Hakobyan, RA Constitutional Court Counselor Yeghishe Kirakosyan, judge at the Court of general jurisdiction of Malatia-Sebastia community of Yerevan Nora Karapetyan. Hakob Karakhanyan didn`t appear at the interview, thus being left out of the competition. 

The Commission will make its decision tomorrow. The grades of the participants will be published after the competition is over.
