The President congratulated Ambassador Mills and wished him success in fulfilling his diplomatic duties in our country and hoped that his mission will be marked with new achievement in Armenian-US friendly relations. Informs the Official website of the RA President.
Serzh Sargsyan noted that Armenia attaches great importance in its foreign policy agenda to the relations with the US and is ready and willing to continue efforts for strengthening the bilateral ties and cooperation in various fields.
The President of Armenia hailed the support which the US provide over the years for the economic development, the reform in different areas, democracy and civil society in Armenia. The RA President also praised the United States’ role in maintaining regional security and stability, including as an OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair Country and the US’s active involvement in the peaceful regulation process of Nagorno-Karabakh.
Ambassador Richard Mills expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and stressed that the United States has a clear goal to continue cooperation in the areas of economic, political and security of Armenia. The ambassador noted that the US is interested in the work of the activation of Armenian-American economic ties, and promotion of reform.
In this context, the parties stressed the importance of the activities of the Armenian-American Committee on Economic Issue. The parties discussed the process of activities on elaboration of the Armenia-US Trade and Investment Agreement.
They touched upon the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement process, the 100th commemoration events of the Armenian Genocide in Armenia and abroad as well.
