An armed incident took place in Baku, during which police officers and a citizen were killed. The joint statement of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan and the Prosecutor General’s Office reported.

According to the report, Rovshan Allahverdiyev, born in 1986, who was wanted and had several convictions, showed armed resistance to the police officers during the arrest.

Allahverdiev, hiding behind family members, opened fire with a “Lancaster” shotgun, killing three policemen and a civilian.

During the measures taken by the police, Allahverdiyev was neutralized. According to the joint statement, a criminal case has been initiated and an investigation is underway.
