Since the beginning of active military operations, Russian peacekeepers have evacuated civilians from Martakert, Martuni and Askeran regions. 3154 people, including 1428 children, were handed over to the peacekeeping contingent.

All evacuated residents of Nagorno-Karabakh were provided with places to rest and hot food. Military doctors of the medical unit of the Russian Special Forces provided assistance to 16 civilians.

On 19 September, a convoy of Russian peacekeepers was fired upon while escorting civilians. As a result of the shelling, the BTR-82A armored personnel carrier of the Russian peacekeeping contingent was hit. There are no casualties among the peaceful population and peacekeepers,” the statement said.
