There is no Danger to the Lives of the Soldiers injured on 1 September: HRD

At the instruction of the Human Rights Defender, the representatives of the staff visited the Central Clinical Military Hospital of the RA Ministry of Defense to meet the 2 servicemen who were injured as a result of the aggressive actions of Azerbaijan in the direction of the Sotk and Norabak settlements of the Gegharkunik region on 1 September.

The RA Human Rights Defender’s Office reported.

During the visit, the medical staff of the hospital discussed issues related to the health condition of injured servicemen and the course of treatment. According to the assessment of the doctors, there is no danger to the lives of the servicemen at the moment.

A private interview was held with the injured serviceman, including his family member.

The soldier said that on 1 September, he was on duty in one of the combat positions located in the direction of the village, when in the early morning the Azerbaijani armed forces started firing intensively, using weapons of different calibers. It was at that time, while ensuring the safety of the RA border population, he was injured.

The staff of the human rights defender summarizes the collected information in order to present it to international partners and other competent bodies.

The health condition of servicemen is under the direct attention of the Defender.

The Human Rights Defender emphasizes once again that these actions of the armed forces of Azerbaijan grossly violate the principles of international law. Aggressive actions of the Azerbaijani armed forces in the direction of RA settlements also have the purpose of terrorizing the civilian population, keeping them in a constant state of stress and anxiety, violating the life and other fundamental rights of the Armenian servicemen who ensure the safety of the population.
